[Résolu] Comment utiliser une police de caractères provenant de Google

Bonjour à vous tous,

Je dois réaliser un second devoir de développement PHP.
Un site spécialisé dans le cinéma me demande de développer sa page de recherche de films. Cette page doit posséder la liste des années disponibles pour les films listés. Quand l'utilisateur sélectionne une année, la liste des films correspondants s'affichent avec leur description.

Je suis au niveau de la création de la structure HTML et de la mise en forme CSS. Je souhaite utiliser une police de caractères disponible sur Google fonts qui s'appelle Source sans pro. Elle existe et plusieurs styles (extra light 200, light 300, regular 400, semibold 600, bold 700 et black 900).

Je n'ai pas encore vu, dans mes cours HTML et CSS, comment utiliser une police de caractère provenant d'une source autre que celle de l'ordinateur. Mais je suis allé sur le web chercher des informations sur comment utiliser des polices de caractères externes et j'ai trouvé ce lien : https://www.develop4fun.fr/ajouter-des-polices-personnalisees-avec-google-fonts/

J'ai appliqué les instructions et ça marche mais mon soucis c'est que je ne sais pas, par exemple, comment utiliser la police de caractères black 900 pour les gros titres et la police regular 400 pour les textes.

Bonjour,

Tu peut t'inspirer des codes de google.

Par exemple avec la font Roboto et en sélectionnant toutes les déclinaisons (graisse, style, ... )
Il te suffit ensuite dans la feuille de style d'appeler la font-family et de spécifier la valeur de font-weight pour que la font correspondante soit utilisée. ( https://codepen.io/gc-nomade/pen/wvpZRxN )

Google te donne du code à copier/coller (soit link soit @import) qui va se charger d'importer la feuille de styles avec les @font-face dont tu as besoin.

Pour Roboto , cela importe toutes ces règles pour chacune des variante de la font via
https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Roboto:ital, wght@0,100;0,300;0,400;0,500;0,700;0,900;1,100;1,300;1,400;1,500;1,700;1,900&display=swap

Chaque variante est déclaré via @font-face , c'est comme sa carte d'identité : son nom , son style, sa graisse, son display (swap pour passer d'une variante à l'autre si disponible, en prenant tout, elles le sont toutes ), son adresse et enfin l'intervalle de caractères qui peuvent être représentés par cette police pour la page.

Bonjour,
Quand tu sélectionne une police et son style sur google font tu vas voir apparaitre un menu sur ta droite qui te fournit les liens à intégrer dans ton css et ton html.

Dans le lien ci-dessus tu peux voir "wght@400" donc weight = 400 ce qui correspond à une police regular. Tu peux même ajouter plusieurs weight dans le même lien avec des points virgules : "wght@400;500;600"

J'ai copié/collé les trois lignes de code HTML que Google Fonts a généré après que j'ai sélectionné les styles dans la liste de la famille Source sans pro.

Mais je ne sais pas comment écrire dans la CSS pour utiliser tel ou tel style. Google Fonts me renvoie toujours la même ligne de code pour la CSS.

Un exemple : dans la body je veux tout le temps utiliser la Source sans pro regular. Donc, je crée :

}

Mais quand j'utiliserai un titre <h1>, je voudrai utiliser la source sans pro black 900. Si j'écris comme ça, ça ne fonctionne pas :

Ma question est donc, quelle est la bonne syntaxe dans la CSS pour pouvoir utiliser le bon style de police ?

je crois que la bonne syntaxe css est dans la longue réponse de gcyrillus.
Je ne suis pas un grand spécialiste de la chose, mais je pense que tu devrais mettre la font "source sans pro" avec @font-face et pour le body, mettre en secours ce que je préconisais l'autre jour. Elle est où, la fonte 'Source Sans Pro black 900' que tu veux mettre sur h1 ?

Pour ma part, je ne télécharge pas les fontes chez un parti tiers, elles sont sur mon serveur. Et j'ai renoncé aux fontes spéciales en mobile, 22 k en moins, ça compte. En mobile, je n'ai qu'un titre et quatre sous-titres à styliser avec une fonte spéciale, on peut s'en passer.

Et je t'ai donné la réponse, avec un exemple et les codes exemples.

C'est simple:

h1{font-weight:bold;/* ou 900*/}

Si c'est trop brut de simple, relis ma réponse , regarde l'exemple donné, puis regardes et analysesles codes de google (une ou deux @font-face .. pas tous , c'est redondant) qui te charge ta police et te font un swap / échange pour te servir le fchier avec la graisse qui correspond.

p.s. , je ne suis pas développeur mais cuisinier ... et tu verras, plus t'en apprend et plus tu te rendra compte que c'est toujours plus complexe et paradoxalement que cette complexité devient de plus en plus facile à appréhender. Il faut faire des pauses et prendre le temps d'assimiler , si tu ne le fais pas, ça te revient comme un boomerang de toute façon Smiley cligne

En fait , tu sais déjà.

Suivre des cours est surement la meilleur chose à faire si tu souhaite changer d'activité professionnelle car il n'y a que comme ça que tu pourras voir les fondamentaux (même si tu devient efficace sur quelque trucs, par exemple, ces fondamentaux je ne les ai pas, je sais des trucs et pour un amateur ça peut aller), il te faudra aussi faire de la veille un peu comme du benchmarking pour te repositionner dans tes savoir faire et acquis. J'imagine que tes cours peuvent te sembler rébarbatif, ne pas aller assez vite a ce que tu estime essentiel , mais si les cours sont bien fait, l'essentiel n'est pas encore l'idée que tu t'en fait . Je n'utilise pas @font-face {}. J'ai juste copié/collé dans le <head> les trois lignes de code qui vont chercher la police avec ses différents styles sur Google Fonts. Puis j'ai déclaré dans le body l'utilisation de la police Source sans pro et pour le <h1> j'ai utilisé le font-weight: 900; et ça marche.

le code que tu as copier/coller , injecte ou importe (comme tu veut) une feuille de style pour justement importer tes polices de caractères via @font-face.

Sur le fond, si tu veut utiliser des polices google font, le copier/coller du code va bien car le job d'intégration est déjà fait , parce-qu’il est bien fait et optimiser pour toi et à ta place, c'est à la porté d'un enfant de 10-12 ans . Maintenant, si tu décides ou doit, héberger toi même la police (parce-que: tu ne veut pas alimenter les stats de google, tu est dans en intranet ou juste en local sans connexion au web ou autre situation ... ) Il va te falloir comprendre comment faire et comment cela fonctionne, car font-weight n'est pas une formule magique Smiley cligne

même si le navigateur t'en laisse l'impression.

Tu n'y est pas, gcyrillus. J'ai bien lu ta réponse. Et avec d'autres informations puisées dans des sites web, j'ai bien compris qu'il existe deux façons d'utiliser des polices de caractères provenant d'autres sources. La première, la plus simple, c'est d'utiliser les polices prêtes à l'emploi comme celles proposées par Google Fonts. La seconde, ta méthode, c'est de générer les différents formats de polices, de les intégrer dans la CSS au moyen de @font-face. Cette méthode est plus fastidieuse.

J'ai préféré utiliser la première méthode car la plus simple mais aussi parce que je n'ai pas encore vu l'utilisation des polices de caractère dans mes cours et que je ne voulais pas donner l'impression au formateur d'avoir avancé très loin. Ce n'était même pas prévu dans mon devoir d'utiliser une police de caractère en particulier. C'est juste que comme je dois fournir une interface HTML d'un site de films, j'ai pensé fournir un travail soigné. Voilà pourquoi j'ai demandé de l'aide sur les polices de caractères.

Je reviendrai sur l'utilisation des polices plus tard, dans d'autres cours de HTML/CSS de perfectionnement.
